IgnitionDeck is a leading e-commerce and crowdfunding platform for WordPress that takes pride in offering the best value and support in the industry. We’re looking for smart, talented, and passionate people to join our team and help us continue to expand the product and achieve our mission. Executive Assistant (part-time, anywhere)

Help keep the leadership team on track by serving as the hand of the King, err…CEO. You’ll be directly involved with scheduling, communication, organization, purchasing, and accounting. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, honest, and is comfortable operating daily with minimum information/direction. Starks and Lannisters need not apply.

Applicants should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Familiarity with OS X and Windows operating systems, Google Docs, Dropbox, iCal, Google Calendar, and word processing/spreadsheet software
  • Comfortable learning new technologies/software systems
  • A non-outlook email client
  • Availability during normal business hours, EST
  • Willingness to get on the phone with clients, customers, partners, and other merchants
  • Experience managing organizational funds, purchasing, etc
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Located in the US or Canada

Bonus points for:

  • Trello, Jira, Flowdock, Freshbooks experience
  • Experience as a customer or user of IgnitionDeck
  • Client management experience

Support Engineer (part-time, anywhere)

We’re extremely passionate about providing the quickest, most helpful, and most responsive support in the WordPress community. By joining our support team, you’ll be on the front lines helping customers solve problems preventing them from launching their website. You’ll also provide product feedback to the management and development teams, help with product testing, and help us improve our website and demos.

Applicants should have the following qualifications and/or attributes:

  • Interested in, or learning more about, WordPress Development
  • Interest in WordPress crowdfunding and e-commerce
  • Patient, polite, and relentless in solving customer issues
  • Be able to express themselves well vocally and in writing
  • Be a disciplined self-starter with attention to detail

Bonus points for:

  • PHP, HTML, CSS experience
  • Experience building WordPress plugins or themes
  • Experience supporting other WordPress products
  • Having launched an IgnitionDeck campaign

Plugin Developer (part-time/full-time, anywhere)

Join us as a plugin developer and help shape the future of the IgnitionDeck e-commerce suite. You’ll learn our codebase as you fix bugs from our issue tracker, eventually writing new features, updates, and extensions of your own.

As your comfort with the product line grows, you may be assigned to manage a product team of your own. Initially, you’ll contribute to all of the following products:

  • IgnitionDeck
  • IgnitionDeck Commerce
  • IgnitionDeck Crowdfunding
  • IgnitionDeck extensions
  • Theme 500 Framework
  • Theme 500 child-themes

Applicants should have the following qualifications and/or attributes:

  • A working knowledge of WordPress and its API (heartbeat, filters, hooks, etc)
  • Above-average PHP and MySQL skills
  • Above-average comfort with javascript, jQuery, HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of version control systems (git, svn)
  • Willingness to learn on the fly, and the talent to do so
  • Excellent communicator
  • Self-motivated
  • Willingness to learn new systems and procedures

Bonus points for:

  • Having a portfolio of previously shipped plugins and/or themes
  • Plugin (open source or otherwise) contributions
  • Knowledge and/or use of IgnitionDeck
  • Desire to join our team as a full-time contractor
